Layman’s house in Vatopedi’s harbor.
In Mount Athos there are living many laymen doing various jobs (fishermen, carpenters, stone masons , farmers etc.). Their employer is the Monastery they are working for. They lived outside the monasteries in houses that they were given to them for as long as they worked there.

Σπίτια λαϊκών στο λιμανάκι.
Στο Αγιον Ορος διαμένουν δεκάδες λαϊκοί που εκτελούν διάφορες εργασίες (Ψαράδες, ξυλουργοί, κτίστες, αγρότες κλπ.). Εργοδότης τους είναι το Μοναστήρι για το οποίο εργάζονται. Διαμένουν έξω από το μοναστήρι σε οικήματα τα οποία τους διατίθενται όσο καιρό εργάζονται εκεί.
